Mortgages

Independent mortgage advice for resident and non-resident buyers, through our partners at Quinta Finance.

Financing a Portuguese purchase is straightforward with the right broker, and considerably less so without one. We work with Quinta Finance, who have established themselves as the leading mortgage brokerage in Portugal offering professional, independent advice to both resident and non-resident buyers.

They are registered with the Bank of Portugal as credit intermediaries, hold longstanding relationships with the major Portuguese lenders, and have more than twenty years' experience in the local market.

What to expect

  1. 01

    An early conversation

Speak to a broker before you start viewing, not after you have made an offer. Knowing your real budget changes which properties are worth your time.

  2. 02

    Decision in principle

An indicative lending decision strengthens your position when negotiating, and reassures the vendor that your offer is deliverable.

  3. 03

    Valuation and offer

The lender instructs a valuation of the property. Timelines here are one of the main reasons promissory contract dates slip, so build in some margin.

  4. 04

    Completion

Mortgage funds are released to complete alongside your own, and the charge is registered against the property at the land registry.

Ask us for an introduction and we will put you in touch directly — there is no cost to the conversation.

Next step

Every purchase is different. Ask us about yours.

Guides can only take you so far. A short conversation with someone who does this every week usually takes you further.
